It offers continuous priority supply of rainwater for toilets, gardens and laundry, only using mains water as a backup.
RainBank® can provide water savings benefits of up to 40% and energy savings as there is no double handling of mains water.
RainBank automatically switches between rainwater and mains water supply, even in the event of no rainwater or electrical interruptions.
RainBank is ideal for incorporating Rainwater tanks into new homes.
Operation
When a toilet is flushed and needs to be refilled, or a washing machine is being filled, water begins to flow along the pipes to the appliances – a water demand.
The RainBank® plumbed into these same pipes down steam, detects the flowing water and checks if there is water in the rainwater tank.
If there is water available, RainBank® switches on the water pump allowing rainwater to flow.
When the appliance is full of water, RainBank® detects water has stopped moving inside the pipes and switches off the pump, and waits for another water demand.
When the rainwater supply is exhausted, RainBank® switches off the pump and the valves close allowing mains water to flow. If there is a power failure, RainBank® will supply mains water as the backup.
RainBank does not consume power in standby.
